In this talk, Elodie Viau will highlight the importance of integrating space-based solutions into land, sea and air transportation using examples from ESA projects.
Humans are rapidly moving toward becoming a true spacefaring species. Are we ready? This session will discuss the hard problems and issues that confront us as humans embrace deep space as part of our living experience... from technology to design, physiology, food, the humanities, human nature/psychology, space/planetary ethics, etc. And how these new understandings and insights can be leveraged now to enhance life and humanity on Earth.
In this talk, Dr. Shawna Pandya will discuss the health challenges of human spaceflight, our next frontiers - and how these lessons can be used to address everyday medical challenges on Earth.
Advances in space-based services and capabilities have enabled many of the foundations of our modern society – mobile navigation, banking, weather forecasting, remote communications – humanity depends on space. With 9,400 tons of objects orbiting above us; Houston, Space has a [debris] problem!
If we hope to continue innovating and advancing the space-based services we rely on daily we must adopt a more sustainable approach to how we utilize and explore space. Space Sustainability, including actions to remove debris, prevent the creation of new debris, and strategically extend the operational life of all objects placed into space, will help to secure long-term access to the unique space environment for generations to come.
