Shira Shamban
Solvo, CEO and Co-founder

Shira Shamban is a security researcher and technical expert with a focus on cloud security. Currently, she is the co-founder and CEO of Solvo. Shira started her professional career in cybersecurity as a military officer in the elite intelligence unit 8200 of the Israel Defense Force. During her 13-year service in the unit, Shira acquired hands-on experience in cybersecurity and intelligence operations while earning an engineering degree from Tel-Aviv University.
After her military service, Shira turned to security innovation in business. After leading the cloud security research at Dome9 Security, today Shira is pursuing her dream as an entrepreneur, and recently founded Solvo, a software company that automates and shifts left cloud security. Shira strongly believes in empowering women and under-represented communities in the world of technology. She volunteers as a lecturer and a mentor in forums such as SheCodes, Cyber Ladies and OWASP-WIA. Shira started her own mentoring program called Security Diva and is the co-chair of OWASP Israel.

Software is in the heart of many products that we use today, from consumer to mobile applications. The way we deliver software has changed as well now that we work in the cloud. Every developer became a little DevSecOps engineer, when expected to deliver secured, robust and scalable software. CI/CD technology was supposed to make time from coding to production much faster and processes were supposed to be fully automated. But are we really doing it right?
In this session I will talk about current trends in developer-centric security, best practices for implementation and some of the lessons learned from creating a shift-left cloud security product.
