Here at REM5, we are big believers in immersive technology as the next computing platform - like its predecessors PC and mobile - it will change the way we work, play, learn and socialize. And COVID-19 has only accelerated the need and adoption of immersive tech across industries. In this session, we will cover the basic technologies including virtual reality, augmented reality and WebXR, and hopefully make sense of all those confusing XR acronyms. From there we will take a deeper dive into real world case studies for these platforms ranging from k-12 education, social engagement and cultural competence training. Post session, we will offer a social hour in a REM5 virtual space that can be accessed through PC - No VR or experience required.
