The City of San Antonio led by the Office of Innovation, has partnered with SmartSA, Hemisfair and local organizations to launch SmartSA Sandbox, a family-friendly pop-up event that is a hands-on opportunity for residents to experience and imagine the future of San Antonio. The event at Yanaguana Gardens at Hemisfair is the second of a series of SmartSA Sandbox events hosted by the Office of Innovation in each Innovation Zone (Brooks, Downtown, and the Medical Center). The event will feature demonstrations of emerging technology, electric cars, Autonomous vehicles, robotics, and more! The whole family can participate in workshops building cutting-edge technology and city-building skills! Attendees can also enjoy a live DJ and a variety of local food innovations from nearby restaurants featuring San Antonio’s food scene.
SmartSA Sandbox at Hemisfair is free and open to the public.

"A new nonprofit launched last month called San Antonio Digital Connects has developed a road map aimed at closing this digital divide. Now it’s seeking local, state, and federal funding to fulfill its ambitious goals.
On Monday, the organization launched its advocacy effort and announced that former USAA and Rackspace executive Marina Alderete Gavito will serve as its founding executive director. Gavito will lead the charge for the public-private-community collaboration."
