argodesign, a product design consultancy working around the globe, was just digging into the development of a visualization tool for DreamWorks when COVID-19 hit. Knowing we'd have to collaborate remotely between Austin, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, and eventually Kiev, the team put a lot of thought into designing a collaboration process that could work across 11 time zones. Ensuring the client could efficiently monitor progress was obviously paramount, but we also had to be confident that the dev and design teams could easily communicate.

A robust and confident combination of Jira, Figma, and Storybook made it all possible, providing an operating system for our design, a QA and documentation resource for development, and guaranteeing a single source of truth between both. We now have a tightly integrated process between these entities and the live app, setting us up with a strong foundation and framework as we begin even more projects within DreamWorks.

Attendees will come away knowing:

  • How to keep a remote team of designers and developers working on different parts of an application in sync, while managing changes and QA through a single backlog.
  • How to keep a client engaged and invested, without giving in to the desire to create a "screen first" approach.
  • How to adhere to an incredibly high degree of precision, both in the design and development, while spread out across the world.

In 2017, there were 814 federal lawsuits related to website accessibility. In 2018, that number skyrocketed to 2,285 and in 2019 there were 2,235 cases. Is your website and the content on it accessible to people of all abilities on all devices? Are you meeting your legal requirements for web accessibility?

This webinar will cover what website accessibility means, which organizations are legally required to have an accessible website (including a review of some recent legal cases), and how to identify and fix accessibility issues on your website. Additionally, we'll discuss how to create a culture of accessibility at your organization and get buy-in and budgetary support for accessibility improvements.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn current laws related to website accessibility and if they apply to your organization.
  • Gain a clear understanding of what website accessibility means.
  • Understand how to identify common accessibility issues on websites and know how to test your website for accessibility.
  • Leave with a list of things that you can fix on your website right now - even if you're not a developer
  • Develop ideas for creating a culture of accessibility at your organization and getting top-level support for prioritizing accessibility.
